b) Health and Fitness Data

• Steps and Activity Data from Apple HealthKit (iOS) or Google Fit (Android)
• Used exclusively to check whether you completed environmental challenges and to provide virtual rewards accordingly.
• We do not use this data for advertising or profiling.
• ⚠️ Health data is never shared with third parties and remains confidential and accessible only to the user.

c) Location Data (Precise)

• Collected only if you grant permission.
• Used to verify your physical presence in a location-specific challenge or activity.
• It enhances certain app features such as rewards for visiting green areas.

d) Environmental Footprint Questionnaire

• Optional self-assessment of your habits via 6 questions.
• Used for personal insights only and never shared externally.

2. User Control Over Data

You are in full control of your data:

• Location and Health Data Access: You may deny or revoke access to HealthKit/Google Fit or location services at any time via your device settings.
• Questionnaire Participation: You are not required to answer the environmental footprint questions.
• Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time through the "Profile" section in the app. This will immediately and permanently delete all your personal data, including username, email, health, location, and questionnaire data.

3. Data Retention

We retain your data only for as long as your account is active. Upon deletion of your account, all linked data is automatically and permanently erased from our systems. We do not store your personal data beyond the period necessary to provide the services unless required by law.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties. All data stays strictly within EcoPulse and is used solely for providing and improving the user experience of the app.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
